Music, 2020
Partir is a piano piece about letting go, moving between softness and intensity. It was composed during a very hard period of my life, initally out of a desire to hold on even more tightly to what I was feeling, but somehow became a way of letting go. It is built around the same melancholic melody running through the piece, repeating but subtly changing with elements of improvisation along the way as it gradually opens up to acceptance.
